Sasha returns to Night Time Stories

Sasha returns to Night Time Stories with his latest venture: composing the score for "Da Vinci Genius", an immersive exhibition celebrating the life and works of Leonardo Da Vinci, the iconic Renaissance polymath.

Sasha, known for his pioneering electronic music, made a bold shift in 2016 with “Scene Delete”—a conceptual, cinematic album that marked new territory for the veteran DJ/producer. Fast forward to 2024, Sasha continues to push boundaries, combining classical music with his deep, immersive sound design for “Da Vinci Genius”.

Collaborating once again with “Scene Delete” veterans Dennis White, Dave Gardner, and Barry Jamieson, Sasha embraced the challenge of creating music for a unique visual experience, working closely with Flora and Fauna Visions (FFV). This exhibition delves into Da Vinci’s genius, blending his masterpieces with digital technology, and the music was crafted to match this vision.

Taking inspiration from composers like Nils Frahm, Jon Hopkins, Steve Reich, Vangelis, and Jean Michel Jarre, Sasha’s team created a score that merges classical and electronic elements. They also drew on Kubrick’s use of classical music in film, as well as modern composers like Hans Zimmer, and incorporated choral music from Renaissance composer Josquin des Pres to infuse ambient sections with historical depth. Guided by FFV’s mood boards, the process was challenging but rewarding. “I hope people see this as one of the most accomplished things we’ve done,” Sasha reflects.

The result is a deeply emotive score with tracks like “Mosaic”, “Equality”, and “Clouds” weaving delicate melodies into lush soundscapes, while "Super Hero'(with Sentre) and “Into The Metaverse” explore more familiar electronic terrain.

With “Da Vinci Genius” Sasha continues to innovate, blending the old with the new. After debuting in Berlin in 2021 and moving to Amsterdam, the exhibition will enchant audiences in Florida and India later this year.
