Theo Parrish X DJ-Kicks mix series.

Long-running and respected DJ-Kicks mix series, shares the next instalment with a mix from Detroit legend Theo Parrish, titled DJ-Kicks: Detroit Forward.

The mix, made up of 19 tracks, is intended to serve as an homage to the present and future of music emerging out of the Motor City. 18 of the tracks featured in this new release available on vinyl and CD are exclusive to the mix, while the other track is a collaboration between Parrish himself and Duminie DePorres called 'Real Deal'. which was released earlier this year. About his mix, Parrish said: "Detroit creates. But rarely imitates. Why? We hear and see many from other places do that with what we originate. No need to follow. Get it straight. In the Great Lakes, there's always more under the surface – more than what appears to penetrate the top layer of attention and recognition. What about those that defy tradition? Those that sidestep the inaccurate definitions often given from outside positions? This is that evidence. Enjoy."
