Nu-Disco cuts for the dancefloor. Nu Disco genres are categorised through a fusion of house music blended with disco elements, and incorporates influences from synth heavy 80's European Dance music of that time. It had a huge influence in the first half of the 2000's due to a resurgence in re-issues and edits created by producers who were influenced by artist from the 70's and 80's. The Genre tends to use programmed or live original instrumentation, early developments can be linked to DJ Harvey and his re-edit series on the Black Cock Records label which inspired many crate diggers to adjust their production methods to focus on this new genre and sound. Notable labels that also emerged were Nuphonic Records with acts like Phase Action. James Murphy's DFA Records which helped launch his band LCD soundsystem, and many others like Todd Terje, Prins Thomas and a host of new up and coming artist.
