Berlin-based artist Voodoocuts has been at the fore with a number of seriously clever and funky edits,flips and re-rubs for the hip-hop minded on labels like Juice On Wax and RESENSE, and here he drops another round of party jams on Friday's Funky 45.
This neat little 7" kicks off on the A side with the track 'Got Jazz', which dips into saucy sitar licks underneath Stetasonic's 'Talkin' All That Jazz'.
On the B its a fresh kicked up version of Eric B & Rakim's 'I Know You Got Soul' which sits squarely in the vain of head nodding cuts up to the likes of The Wiseguys and DMC mix battles in the 90's. Funky like a train buy on sight.
